I see that all of the repro '67-'70 Bendix drum brake master cylinder covers are finished with a nice bright gold cad plating. I always remembered them as being more silver cad & the nice '69 cover I have appears to be silver as well (top and bottom). My cover has not been blasted like so many of the reman cylinder covers have been in the past. Is gold the correct finish and the original covers I remember looking at were just faded? ( Like my memory....).
Also, I'm searching for a May-ish of 68 coded master cylinder. Thanks
Thanks

From the assembly line they were painted black along with the booster, cly and cover all at once.
Are we talking the disc brake Bendix or drum? They are two different animals. The disc brake booster was indeed painted along with the master cylinder ( they were together prior to paint ). Now, the drum setup could be a different story.

Sorry I forgot to state: Manual Drum Brake, no booster.

Something I researched well before I put the bendix NOS painted unit on my convertible, but got a point deduct at the nationals with no recourse because I received my judge sheet later. Bendix Brake units were painted together as mentioned.
