I just got a new(old) car with T-tops and I want to take care of the weather striping.

Thanks!

I have some stuff called Aerospace 303. Bought it at a boat shop. That works pretty well.

I've used GoJo hand cleaner (non-pumice, of course). Seems to work OK, I've had the car 16 years and still on it's original door & roofrail rubbers (and it's a 68).

GoJo is great for cleaning all things vinyl and rubber.

I use the best stuff on earth-Meguiars No.40 Vinyl and Rubber Conditioner. It's non-toxic and looks natural.

Got this tip from Auto Restorer magazine about 13-14 years ago and it works wonders....

Wash the piece thoroughly with warm water and an SOS pad. Then take the good old fashioned Vaseline petroleum jelly and massage it into the rubber. Vaseline and weatherstriping rubber are completely compatible and the Vaseline will soften and keep the rubber "live".

if you have the ability to store it inside then keep the doors cracked open and the T-tops removed if its going to sit for any period of time, less compression on the seals.

I have used a silicon spray, sprayed onto a cloth and then wipe the weather stripping down with that . . .

I second that emotion. Worked for me for 40+ years.

Armor All IS garbage. Meguiars No. 40 is the best. It's much cheaper if you buy it by the gallon and refill the small squirt bottles. I got a gallon off ebay pretty cheap.
