Is it possible to remove and then install a dashpad in a '66 B-body without removing the dash?

Thanks

yes.
but you have to either take out the glove box liner, or find a way around it.

there are speed nuts holding it on all along the edge of the dash.

Thanks for the info. Sounds like something I can tackle. How difficult is it to remove the glove box liner?

Been there....done that.

I found it much easier to remove the glove box liner, remove the radio, then remove the instrument cluster.

When those three components are removed from the dash, you should be able to access all of the threaded studs on the upper pad.

And yes, the steering column will have to be lowered to remove the cluster.

I loosened the steering column, pulled the front seats, glovebox liner and the instrument cluster. Then it wasn't hard to worme my hands up underneath there and get all the 5/16" speed nuts off. Easier than dropping the whole dash assembly.

Sounding like a bigger job than I was expecting. At this moment I'm not skilled to perform things like lowering a streering shaft and pulling the instrument cluster. Although I will be pulling the seats to replace them with nicer pieces.

Thanks all for the help.

its all nuts and bolts...lower the columns easy take off the 3 bolts loosen plate or unbolt at firewall...cluster just take out the screws remove speedo cable and unplug harness carefuly...easy peasy...itll be harder to get your hands up and get the socket on the speed nuts...imo

long extension helps with a deep socket.

and yes you pretty much have to drag that socket till you hit something and try to stab it blind.

not tough, just takes time.

putting it back is about the same. not really any worse, as the speed nuts have a lip so they don't fall into the socket.
