When I started asking around for prices milling heads, I got to $400 really quickly and that was just milling head and intake surfaces, no work on valves or seats or guides or new parts. Maybe it's a lot cheaper where you are, but I would hate to spend $800 on a pair of heads when the assembled Stealth heads are $1000.

Well..considering that the heads I have flow more than an OOTB Stealth, are fresh, needing only surfaced...I'll stay with what I have. IMO, Stealths are not the greatest investment...

I just had a set of Indy -1 heads milled and picked them up yesterday. 150 bucks to cut the deck and the intake face, 30 bucks to clean, 80 to set up the spring height.
Porting a set of 452's to flow like an otb stealth is ok, but you start getting thin. Then the stealths can be ported a bunch more over than the otb, so there really isn't a comparison to them as to a 452. But if you are just wanting a 500 hp average or so, then 452's is a good choice, other than the heat cycles and age. I have found that stealths, and eddy heads will only make enough hp to have a moderate running car when the car is 3200 lbs and more. If you like 11 or 10 second cars they are ok. In the late 80's that was considered fast. Now adays, you won't even get noticed going down the track at that level. Mopars are just plain heavy and it takes some serious power to get them to run with the pack these days.

From experience, the 452s are not even thin at 290ish cfm. But the comment about the Stealths being capable of even more is correct, we have set here now that is 340+ at .700" lift.

Do they spec a different milling amount per CC for the closed chambered heads? I would think they would require more milling per cc because of the chamber size.
