My friend has a couple of these laying around in his garage. I can't seem to find any info on them. I have heard that if they check out ok they can be reused. Anyone have any insight?
Thanks,
Josh

Thanks for the replies. It will be free so I am not sure if it would be worth the trouble.

In the early days of stroker motors for a bb you had to get the journals spray welded and offset ground to make a crank.
I remember being at the mopar nationals when it was still at Indy. They were bringing in a few pallets of used top fuel cranks. These were high end heavy pieces that had cracks in them that were not seen by eye; and were no longer suitable for top fuel. They were all gone in about an hour for about $150-200 each. The word then was they were plenty strong for whatever you could ever do to them NA or even blown to about 2000 hp. I was told they were very heavy and would take a fair amount of work be useable.
Too many cars, too many parts, too little coin, too little space to work in, too little time left to make it all happen!
Update: down to one ride, still too many parts, a little more jingle in the pocket, gaining space, and it's going to happen this year!

I watched a friend go into the wall at 1000' in his car because the "cracked but good for under 2500hp" crank exploded taking some of the block out thru the wheel well and the right front tire off the rim in the middle of 3rd gear. The engine made under 900hp on dyno runs and aside from the dributor cap and wires there was nothing usable left.
If it's tested and shows cracked there is nothing but opinion about what it can take or when it will let go. IMO I'll never use them.
Well, art is art, isn't it? Still, on the other hand, water is water! And east is east and west is west and if you take cranberries and stew them like applesauce they taste much more like prunes than rhubarb does. Now, uh... Now you tell me what you know.

I might be knocking on the wall of 2500. I can get everything checked out for free and have a choice of a bryant crank and a couple other brands. I will have to check out that adapter ring.

Top Fuel cars change the crank every 10 runs. Most all the time the cranks that are pulled out have hairline cracks. Some are in spots that can be welded. Long run probally easier to buy a good aftermarket steel crank.
