Well it is a sad day here in MD. 75 & 80 released its schedule. It shows it's final race will be at the end of September. Ive attached a copy of the schedule.
I really did not know the best place to post this.

People have to show up! There is a lot of expense in running a track, The track equipment, supply's, track crew, insurance, lights, property taxes, and the general maintenance and repairs, oh and there's the payment that has to be made to the owner or bank. Try doing that on a small car count every week and see how long you last. Solution is to support the track, bring your car, truck or motor cycle, if you can't race, show up as a spectator or you'll find yourself driving along way to race or finding another hobby.
it's ok to butt heads, just don't do it with a butthead

That's a shame but yeah, support your local track before it's gone.
We just got word that Orlando Speed World Dragway has been sold and will remain open.

Why is it closing? It closed once before and was going to be developed, but it was found that the land would not pass perk tests due to all the chemicals, oil, whatever in it from over the years. So, it was reopened.
Like to know the reason.

it's a home thing. They have been trying for years to build out there. The property is very valuable. They had some zoning issues before I guess they worked them out. The new managment was less than great. They weren't open Sundays and didn't start running Sats until like 4pm. Plus they were s l o w getting the cars down the track. I'll miss it and I was there at the last opening, I'll be there for this one. I guess I'll be a Capitol Racway guy after Sept.
someone wheeled and dealed i guess to get the county to allow homes to be built... every year they have water shortages around the frederick area due to over-development. new home permits were stalled for some time, but now it looks like they are putting in new home developments rather than putting a stop to it. they already have a water crisis every year with fines for people who wash a cars, etc.
