What are the best rings to use on a 440. It is not a high dollar elaborate engine. speed pro forged 6 pack pistons, came out to around 9.8:1 compression. I am occasionally going to be using nitrous on this engine as well. It is going to be mostly street driven however. Does anybody have an idea which rings will be best? Do I need file fit because of the nitrous?

You don't really have a lot of tricky ring choices with those pistons. Buy any good brand using a plasma moly top and ductile iron second. Set the gaps per the instructions for how ever much N2O you plan to run to keep them in one piece.

Speed Pro file fit moly are what I'd suggest. Be sure to do your final hone to the ring manufacturer's specs.

As long as the tune is always spot on the Moly top ring will be ok. I'd go with a hardened ductile or steel top ring if they are available for your combo.
