There is tons of info for this swap. Check out some of our own members write ups: (this from member 808cuda) https://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/show...e=1#Post3930520

Also, member Daty Rogers has done the swap. If you go over to cuda-challenger.com, they have swaps as well. Bouchillon performance (http://www.bouchillonperformance.com/) or mancini have just about everything you need.

Did you finish your A518 swap? 5.7s can be found pretty cheap but 6.1 is a little harder to get.

Welcome. Yes, you can use the 518, I am planning on that. I emailed SMR and found that they have the 2.74- 1.55 1st and 2nd gear planetary set available for the 518, which give the wider spread like the 500! I am eventually going to get that when I am ready for the trans.
I am looking for a 6.1 as well. If you come across an extra one, please let me know. I will do the same.

Thanks,
Mark

Hey Dan, you should be able to use an existing harness and just use the connections you need. This will save you a lot of money as those "done" harnesses go for around $900. This guy over on cuda-chllenger modified the original harness, plus doing a number of "home brew" stuff like you are planning. Here is the thread.... http://www.cuda-challenger.com/cc/index.php?topic=89416.0

I PMd him to see if he finished his spread sheet on how he did everything but haven't heard back yet. Another member his trying to get me his CAD drawing for the 518 trans cross member that he had fabbed up.

I can forward you the info once I receive it. Also, once you have the mounts down pat, would you be interested in making a second pair in which I could purchase off of you, or work out some kind of deal for a pair?
Thanks

That sounds like the going rate for the harness unless you can pull one out of a junk vehicle.
