Has Toyata ever made a "production" pushrod V8?
Why would a "successful"car manufacturer go backwards to build an antiquated design engine when you can build a more efficient better designed cylinder head with twin cams Gus
they built the push rod motor just for nascar.... thats alot of coin just to go nascar... but I still wouldnt buy one

rumor has it they might be coming back next year.... Fiat is into the racing but I'm sure they have to look at the bucks FIRST....
With a team most would find hard to believe.
Thats the problem now... trying to find a team willing to change OR coming up with enough people to build a team... if they(Chrysler) wanted they could lay out enough money to make it worth while... if they could get some good people... but money is still first

GM's LS family seems to still be doing well for such an antiquated design. and the fact that toyota spent so much money making a pushrod V8 just to go racing speaks volumes.
Remember when NASCAR went to Japan and raced there? A few of the teams sold their cars to some well funded engineering firms to reverse engineer the cars and start construction of their own engine of course making it better and more fuel efficient. And just another bit of inside info here,Toyota tried to buy NASCAR but were outvoted by the stock holders(I heard by one Toyota rep that the vote was closer than you think)So they did the next best thing, they put up quite a sum of cash to sponsor some races as long as they could play too. So when Fiat joins up in NASCAR with an Italian based cylinder head is that going be OK with you "AMERICANS" As long as it's German or Italian it's OK to be UN-AMERICAN sheesh what a bunch of hypocrites Gus
Couple of things for ya... Dodge was the one getting the best mileage last year.... also it was said that IF they go back to nascar Dodge would be the one running it... not Fiat... Fiat pretty much lets the Chrysler group run themselves... and has been doing well
