Would you rebuild an AFB or replace it with something new? The AFB is old but was never used until about a year ago. Currently the AFB has a BAD stall on hard acceleration and is BAD cold natured. I was considering EFI but I am not interested in spending the money right now. If the AFB can be helped I'm all for it but if not I'll pick up a new Edelbrock in Indy next month.

You can buy individual parts without buying a kit at www.walkerproducts.com click on the shop online at the top, then click Carter, then 4bbl. A great detailed PDF all about AFB carbs is on www.edelbrock.com, go to carbs, then go down to Carburators owners manual.

Check the accelerator pump & want immediate tip in & good stream duration & I'm sure there's a source for purchasing pump plungers seperately just make sure you get the correct one for your app. Check/adjust the choke setting/pulloff & lightly closed at 70 deg F is a good baseline to start with. then you'll be in a better frame of mind to decide if it needs rebuilding. It's on the car & running so I wouldn't think it is in too bad of shape right now except for those 2 issues. EDIT might open it up & check float level & that'd be a good opportunity to check for debris inside there
