I have a question about hemi arms. I know in the big block world thee are a few different rocker arms that you want to stay away from. Is this also true in the hemi world? In other words are their hemi rockers that are crap, and if so what should I look for?

This would be for a street car with 500+ cubes and a 4 speed.
Thanks!

Had oiling problems with indy exhaust rockets. Went back to stock wide pads. 572" 7500 rpm no issues.

I too, had problems with oiling on the Indy exhaust rockers; cured that with oil through the pushrods.

The Landy and Mopar performance roller tip rockers do not oil the tips very well, especially when the oil is cold. to compensate, I have opened up the groove in the number four cam journal to provide more oil to the valvetrain. also I do not use straight weight oil. I use 1030 or 1040, because it gets oil to the roller tips quicker.
If you are using a flat tappet cam, stock Hemi rockers will be fine.

I paid top dollar for a set of mopar wide pads, the ratio's were all over the place so I sent the off to RAS, they made the ratio's even but then I was about 1.36 for a ratio insead of the 1.52, so it was another 1800 for a set of stageV rollers. I also upgraded to .250 Dechellies shafts
Go big or go home is where I was left at with these...

I use a set of stock wide pad rockers too, I had Tim Banning go through them. 1.69/1.52. I use them on a solid roller, no oiling problems.Dave

Here is the cam I used to run...Full roller deal that I ran on the street and track! Now remember those numbers are with stock rockers, I run the higher lift Indy rockers....Ask me how much three sets of push rods, two sets of lash caps, and one set of valve guides cost $$$$$

Here is my new cam! This one is a full mechanical I run on street/strip.

I wouldn't rely on this guys ebay feedback to gauge the quality of those cheap chinese junk rockers . Most ebay users fear retalitory negative feedback so they will not give it , plus you only have 90 days to leave feedback , I doubt 75% of those rockers sold were installed with the feedback period .

I haven't seen anything good posted about them that I can remember.

Everything I've heard about those rockers hasn't been good.
I use the DLI roller rockers w/ MP shafts and stands on my hemi w/ a solid roller. Zero issues since 2006.

A customer brought in a set and the stands wouldn't register on the head dowels and line up with the head bolt holes and the shafts wouldn't pass through all the stand holes.Ratios were all over the place and one pin fell out of the roller on one arm.We went over them and restaked all the roller pins.

Thank you guys for the replies. The price seemed too good to be true on those ebay units, and being new to the hemi engine I did not know if there were parts to stay away from. That is what this thread is about!

OMG! Those rockers on ebay from 1hemiman in Canada are total garbage! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THOSE! He sent me three different sets and I had to send them all back, and I had to pay the shipping cost! Some of the roller pins could be pushed out by hand! From there I bought the Indy roller rockers and they were junk too! The Indy's have terrible geometry...terrible machine work...and terrible oiling! They didn't even clean off the burrs left by the machining process!
I lost a lot of money trying to save money on buying crap! I finally bought Stage V rollers from Tim Banning at For Hemis Only, and they are they best I ever seen, and the price is not bad. I spent the extra money on the Manton T/F rocker shafts, which are over-kill on my street engine, but the finish is phenomenal! The Stage V geometry is absolutely perfect which saves money down the road on guides and such. The oiling design is great! The machine work is gorgeous! The finish on the bushings is so beautiful that I could see the difference with by bare eyes!
Forget Indy & ebay 1hemiman & Mopar performance! Call Tim now, because he only get a limited number of per year. Also beware if you pay with a credit card. My Mastercard charged me a $56.00 fee for some sort of usage Canadian bullsh#t!
Trust me! Learn from my mistakes!!!

I ordered mine directly from StageV, and the shafts Directly from Dichellies. Their prices are comparable with their vendors. Tim

I also bought a set. Same issues. I did not dare to buy with roller tips, and went stock type. They were too short and ground with wrong starting point for the radius. If used as is, it would have worn out the guides/valvestems in a short time. I checked with X-referance to stock old Mopar rockers and found out that the brackets were not the problem, but the rockers needed welding/extending and regriding the tips. Also lacked all the hold down bolts when I got the set. Too late for me in Norway to challenge the feedback when I finally got them.
I have used stock rockers sold on the bag with better results, although some have had worn tips (easy fix).
My old rockers ran 9000 rpms with Crane R290 in the old days, no issues with them. But I needed to check/grind the radius for correct fitness to the valvestem top with that camshaft back then.
