Called my local Dodge garage looking for a 6.1 block and was told that the system showed 0. Where is the best place to get a new block? I also need heads for a 6.1, where is the best place to get the heads? Is it best to buy them bare and send them away to be cnc'd or does someone sell them and cnc them in house. I was thinking of having Modern, or Arrington do them. I here great things about Jeff but not much info on Arrington good or bad. Anybody else I should be considering? Does anyone here have first hand experience with Arringtons rockers and if so do they fix the geometry and make it possible to run something in the .700 lift range?

6.1 heads cnc'd
11.5 comp
cam in the .700 lift range if possible mid 260's-low 270"s @.050
Ritter intake with 1050 dominator
3400lb car
4.10 gear 28" tire
5500 8" conv

I already built that motor

I bought my block new from a Dodge dealer when thy were still avail.....

I had Jeff at Modern do my heads.

No need for a .700 lift cam or aftermarket rockers. These motors will spin 8k all the time with out breaking a rocker.

Buy the hardened shafts and hold downs that tie the intake and exhuast shafts together with the ARP bolts. The stock hold downs are chincy.

You will not be running much spring PSI about 150-180 to 300 open.

Dave Weber is really good with the 3G HEMI stuff his shop is called Modern Muscle. He supplies Mancini with all there 3G stuff. Moparts member Gemlin Steve helped me alot in building my motor.


I had NO luck with INDY but I built my motor PRE Josh. They only wanted to send me a catalog I would only ask for Josh If you call INDY

I'm wondering who has the extra $$$ to buy some Indy stuff as a test case?
