anyone out there running a spredbore carb on the RPM squarebore intake with open adaptor?

I am going to try it myself and was looking up the adaptor part#. I see you can get the universal fit open adaptor and edelbrock has one that moves the spredbore carb back 5/16".

supposed to help with distribution on an open plenum intake. so I was wondering if it would be better than the universal adaptor.

I used a direct fit adapter that was made by BG Carb & was made of laminated wood

thanks Bob. I will look for it.

I have the 3/4" 4-hole spredbore spacer and laying it on the top of the rpm intake I could trim the 1/2 moon looking part matching the spacer, but no way would you be able to make a stock spredbore gasket fit. not enuff meat on the sides.

wonder how much effect it would have if I cut the 1/2 moons in the flange and then go back to a squarebore carb? I guess a 4-hole spacer would cover the notches up ok.

now...do i want to hack up a new rpm intake just so i know???

Didn't you ask me in a post a while back if the was enough meat in the flange for a Qjet? We were talking Mag intakes.
Well so everyone knows The Performer RPM,Crosswinds & other intakes with a squareflange (standard Holley)that I have laying around here.
There is not enough meat around the flange or corresponding bolt hole material for drilling & tapping such

Sorry it took me so long I just found the gasket to make the match with yesterday.

not enuff to open up the flange.

I have the 3/4" 4 hole wood spacer for the edelbrock 1905 q-jet that I mocked up on the rpm intake. it will work to bolt it on but just needs a little triming for each hole.(1/2 moon shaped) well within the flange area for no leaks.

I also see edelbrock has a spredbore to sqaurebore flange adaptor that moves the q-jet back 5/16" to help distribution on an open plenum intake.

that got me to thinking about the divider mod for the RPM intake. milling the divider down till it is 3/8" off the floor to make it an open plenum area on the duel plane.

from the what I see on most cambos, the 3310 on a rpm intake seems to be the way to go maybe. I just dont have one of those.

I ran a 850cfm TQ with a Edelbrock RPM manifold on my old 340-4spd Duster. Used the Mr. Gasket open spreadbore to squarebore adaptor.

1970 FE5 Duster 360/904/3.91's SOLD 1973 TB3 SpaceDuster 340/4spd/4.10's SOLD Moparless for now but when the opportunity is right I'll have another one.

I'm running one right now...using the Mr. Gasket open adapter...3/4" height. Did some fine-matching before I had actually installed it..contoured it to make for a smooth transition between the carb-adapter and adapter-intake mating lines.

Here are a few pics:

...but because of all the growth in height I ended up completely switching away to the Lokar based cabling :

I got it bolted on and did the same thing with the MrGasket adaptor blending/matching the contures from adaptor to intake flange.

run a wire for the elect.choke and man does it work nice.

good throttle responce like the stock intake with q-jet but the HP/torque the RPM intake has.

I am very happy with it and it even picked up from 10 to 13.7 mpg running the 3.23 gear.

I am not used to a choke here in FL though, the waiting for 2.5 mins at cold start up is kinda new to me.
