Hope this link works. At the end is his full Pike's Peak run from 2012. The camera is car mounted and all you hear is the car- no music or talking.

I think it would be kinda dumb not to....considering the lack of catch fences and guard rails. Pretty sure a cage is required in all classes except the obvious (bikes, quads etc.)

Yes. A cage is a non-negotiable requirement. Search Jeremy Foley on youtube and see why.

Pikes peak is a somewhat complicated bag of rules. While the event is sanction by the Pikes Peak Hillcimb Inc, some of the rule sets come from SCCA, some from the Colo HillClimb Assoc, some from Colo Vintage Racing, some from AMA, etc. So, it isn't always easy to decifer and you will need to be very specific on class selection to define the applied rule sets.

Additionally, the Peak is not encouraging of, nor do they want to see any psuedo street cars running in race classes and opening up potential libility issue for them. The exception beinghte rallye class cars, which are governed by SCCA rules.

I had a conversation with several guys on pro-touring.com who thought they could take their roll caged street car up the Peak in a vintage class and the truth is that the rule set is such that it would not be possible until you get to the point that your car is a thinly veiled race car. For the vintage classes, these are predominately using the Colo Vintage Racing rule book, which bases a number of its allowable mods in FIA homoglation papers, so the restricted nature of the rule set pretty much precludes any pro-touring style of builds being allowed.

Is it possible, potentially yes, is it probable, not really. But, like all things automotive, the right combination of car, driver, experience, sponsors and money can make some things reality.
