Can anyone give me any tips before I tackle this project. I have a scratched roll up window that I need to replace. Just wondering if I have to pull the vent window also. It looks kind of difficult.

there is a plastic plug in the center of the bottom of the glass.
you should probably look for a replacement right now.

pop it out, and it will probably break apart.

you should then be able to pop the glass up out of the holder.

then roll the holder down and tilt the glass so that it starts to drop in front and up in the back and you should be able to pull it out.

from memory, and about 15 years ago.

Got the plastic plug out and have several replacements from a 4 door car. Your way is a lot easier than the factory service manual way. It wants you to pull the vent window assembly to pull the main window.

And then how are you going to get the plastic plugs that push into the front of the glass and ride up and down in the vent channel??

After looking over the situation, I found that I had to remove the vent window along with the door glass. I had to order the plastic sleeve and the taps the secure the window in the vent window channel.

It is a bigger job than I thought it would be.
