Guys, I am in the process of repainting the radio & a/c surround on my '74 only to find that the original wrinkle finish is WAY too fine compared to the rattle can paints available. what is the correct product to use ?

I used Duplicolor rattle can truck bed coating for mine. I never could get the wrinkle finish paints to come out the way I wanted. The rattle can bedliner stuff went on great and should be durable. If you go this route try some spray outs first to figure out your plan of attack. The stuff sprays out in high volume.

The wrinkle finish on mine was very heavy. I used VHT wrinkle paint which worked great. I've heard a few people say the finish on theirs was a lot finer. I'd try a "sand" finish paint and see if you like that.
