I just drove into Chicago from Oklahoma and as I came into the parking lot of the hotel the ABS light came on.
I am spending tomorrow looking at universities with my son then returning to Oklahoma on Saturday. What is this light telling me and is it something that can wait until I get back home?

Telling you the ABS isnt working. When it comes on it reverts to regular brakes.Go to a big chain and have the codes scanned. Can be almost anything usually will not create a problem.I see lots of cars at work with ABS lites on.They dont want to spend money to repair and are still driven.Rocky

My wifes' '98 Town & Country will do that on long trips. Then the lite goes back out after city driving. I don't think there is a code the standard home scan tool will see.

caravans are known for clocksprings that go bad and set off the light on ....then off..then on....

Thanks guys! It all worked out am I am home now. The ABS light went out after a little city driving then next morning and still hasn't come back on.
I did replace the clock spring this summer to fix the air bag light and it really isn't a bad job at all. Thanks for your answers.

Disconnect the battery cables, (or at least the (+)) and wait about 30 seconds, and reconnect.

Our "check engine light" came on in our 98 Caravan, didn't seem to run any different, and disconnected it. Did the above and it ain't been on since. I understand sometimes these electronic wonders will "hiccup" and set off the code(s). Sometimes they just need reset?
