Progress update. Thanks to a fellow Moparts member with a good eye(thanks Jess) I was alerted to putting the brake shoes on wrong. So tonight I got that fixed and continuing to work on prepping the engine...

It won't be pretty for quite some time. I will be cleaning the dust off and trying to make what good paint there is on it shine! Once I destroy these tires I will go taller. These are 295/50's. Want at least 275/60's. But will probably go bigger. I think the wheels are 10". Gotta love b-body wheel houses!

great score, love the slots!
I'm liking them, too. Going to try to clean them up a little. New rubber will be nice, too.

I'm officially done poking around to check out the body condition. Pulled the finish panel off the back. Ouch. So far the AMD list includes: Rear tail panel Right quarter panel Rear window channel Both window corners Maybe a full trunk pan while the quarter panel is off Left inner fender. Maybe right fender. Oops. My bad. They make high volume items like Super Bird window trim that I'm sure people need 20 to 1 over '69 Coronet fenders! Hahaha. I'm sure more to come. Here is some bitter eye candy for me!

However, I remain undeterred. I will still be thrashing in the next three weeks to make it run, stop, steer and make the trip to Woodward!

Tank is out. Had it not been for some abuse, then it could have been reused. The j-bolts can be salvaged. But, with new everything else, why? Lol. Pad is even decent. But brittle. A mile of air line for the air shocks: Tank. Looks good! Okay, maybe not.

How come I can just hear "hold my beer a minute" when I look at that tank? I've seen some crushed tanks before, but holy crap! and I'd just slap the finish panel back on and check that off your list.... there's a guy on FBBO that just rebuilt the tail panel on his '69, just got laid off, probably be able to do yours in his sleep! gotta love the old cars.

Trunk floor from below... Looks like someone hit it with an airsoft wand or something. Lotsa dings. I'm not sure which direction to go. Lots of dings means lots of hammer work(black car) which=lots of labor which = lots of money. The rust isn't terrible. So patching it makes sense. But to get it straight... Oh, wait! It doesn't matter right now!! Get it running!
