You just type in all the fender tag codes and it tells you everything. Just thought id share. No I am not affiliated with this site.

Online decoders do not know which items were not available with others. I just typed all this in to see what happened.

It did not know that 1970 Challengers with 340s were not R/Ts.

Blue leather interior was never an option on 1970 Challengers.

Vinyl side moldings, side stripes & bumble bee stripes were never available together.

There is more that conflicts & / or was not available together

I tossed in four different radios just for fun.

If you do not know if a tag is real or fake or know what your are looking at, consult someone that does before you buy any car.

Exhibit A from my scenario above;

Im 99% sure this is not the case but in todays environment of electronic theft, do you see how easy it would be to gather information from all over the country that could be used for unscrupulous reasons.

Yes, I think like this and don't smoke dope

It tells me that the service is no longer provided when I enter my VIN.

As Barry has said, those online decoders are useful for a quick reference if you don't know how to decode the FT yourself, but they are far from accurate for the reasons stated.

Garbage in, garbage out and I'm fine with that. I'd be concerned if there were a fender tag decoder out there that pointed out all the errors for the hucksters.

Roger that!
