& since it has a cost ($79.20) on a '68 RM21 it would need to show up on a coupe's window sticker.

Wonder if it shows up as a charge for the upgraded interior.

This is a hardtop model and I don't know if it should be on the window sticker? I am having a repro one made by AAA enterprises and they asked me to provide all the options. If anyone has an original window sticker that would be very helpful.

Good point and I'd be willing to bet with the Federal Monroney Label law that it is on there unless it is part of another code like the light package that has the map light, fender top turn signals, trunk light, etc as one code.

In '69 they charge for the 3-speed wiper ($7.14?) and it's on the window sticker for the A12 package even though you can't have the big air cleaner without it. But because it's not part of the package or any other code and it's needed by law they have to list what you're being charged for.

Sorry just read it's an RM23 Hardtop:

The decor package is part of the RM23 base price and comes standard so it will be listed in the base price items at the top of the window sticker for RM23.

Couldn't find a '68 window sticker but here's how it's listed on a '69 RM23 road runner, see the last item of the "standard equipment" for an RM23

What I recall from a long time back is that on the '68 Coupes it was called out in detail, and on the '68 Hardtops it was called out as well, but I don't remember how detailed.

On the '68 coupes/post rr's only if it was ordered. It was an option on the coupes in '68 and in '69 (A87 code for de`cor) which included bright finish B-pillar, bright arm rest bases, ash trays in the rear arm rests, different steering wheel, high grade seat covers, bright finish upper door panel, etc.

In '69 on the later production A12 Lift-Off-Hood RM21's A87 became a mandatory item on them. There are very few RM21 A12's without the A87 option....Dave Watt's car comes to mind.

Well, yeah, only if ordered...shouldn't be on the Monroney otherwise!

Yeah, sorry just meant that it wasn't standard on the coupes and it was a stand alone option (even on '69 coupes, except on the A12 RM21).

As far as the A12s, since most were NOT ordered - I'd bet adding the decor package (~$81) was more of a Chrysler Corp. decision to put a little more profit in the A12 coupes.

Probably not a "loss leader", but I'm sure there was little money on the sub-$3000 base '69 Road Runner coupe.

68 decor package on an RM21 shows up as a separate option (Code 360) with detail and pricing.

This is from another member here (sorry, don't remember who to give credit to)
Supposeed to be an original window sticker.

As far as I know the Decor package was standard on RM23 (hardtops). It was not called out on the window sticker unless it was ordered on a RM21.

Just my

H4F is that the '69 A87 option code for '68 for the High Grade Decor Group?

(Frank, nice FF1 RM23, I wonder what color FF1 is and what it would look like on a '68 road runner hardtop

Mike,

Could'nt tell you wether it's the '69 A87 option. I'm not up to date on '69 codes.

The H4 interior was the standard with the decor package and was the same as the Satellite front seat.

H4 = High Grade, vinyl, split bench front seat

F = Green

and BTW, I think the FF1 color on a RR would look just great

hey thanks!!

2 more questions...

1) would a rear speaker be listed seperatly on the window sticker if the car came with the 8 track option. or was it part of that option?

2) how is the destination charge calculated? i see many different numbers in front of the "destination charge" verbage.

Thanks- John

Well,

The 8 track option (sales code [420, $196.25] fender tag code R-0) would be listed as an option on the window sticker but the rear seat speaker would only be on the build sheet as the speaker is part of the R-0 package,

This is supposition on my part but from my understanding the destination charges were computed by the mfg based upon the location of the dealer. So destination charges varied by where the car was produced and the dealers location to the factory.
