will a 340 crank work in a 360? #1371927

i have a 340 with a stroker crank in it.thoght i blew a head gasket took the heads off had milled and checcked put back together sounded ok made a few passes the temp never came up past 160 and the car was only running 1180s usally go 1130s consistantly after 3rd or 4th pass approx a qt of antifreeze dumped out the driver side exaust just like before.i am just now getting ready to pull motor.thinking its the block.i have a 360 looking for advice any help would be great thanks

no the mains are to small on the 340

I was thinking that someone at one time did sell bearing spacers that would make up the distance to let you do that then line bore/hone. Might check Mancini/Summit/Hughes etc sites & see what you see. I'd pump it up before you tear it down if you can & as you know then when torn down a good visual for cracks/flatness check/head bolt torque/depth check/gasket condition on the Dr side deck

I think before I would scrap that block I would find the source of the leak and see if it is terminal or fixable It would a shame if the leak is in one of the heads and not the block

And if it is a cracked cylinder just sleeve it!
