Id use either Eddy rpm heads or Indy EZs. Comp magnum roller rockers, The M-1 will work fine, maybe a holley SD if hood clearance is an issue. The 850 will work but not run as good as a 950 or 1050 carb. Have Dewayne porter or Bullet custom grind you a cam.

Here is what I used on my 493. I used a 440Source 4.15 stroker kit with dished pistons so I could end up at 10.6 comp with the Indy EZ heads I used. I bought the heads from Dwayne Porter and he did a little work to them. I also had Dwayne spec and grind the solid flat tappet cam I use. He is very good and I wanted a cam to match my build. Every car I see with his cam in it runs great. Up top I use the Indy dual plane intake and an 850 DP Holley carb. It runs very good for me. Its a 92 pump gas eng with good quench. When I race it its thru the full 3" exhaust system on pump gas of course. Its in my 3700 lb 63 Sport Fury and has run 10.70's so far. I know it has more in it if I ever get back to the track. I also drive it to the track. Good luck , Ron

Here's what I did on my 493 stroker:
4.15 crank
Ross dished pistons, 10.6 Compression
Ported Eddy RPM heads
Racer brown cam STH-42
Roller rockers, 1.7-I 1.6-E
Ported sd holley intake
850 Speed Demon annular carb on nitrous plate
TTI headers 2" primaries
Idles at 900 rpm, This thing pulls incredibly hard and sounds wicked. I'm still not ready to turn the nitrous on.

Big motors need big heads, big cam,big headers and high volume fuel system If you want to use the intake and carb, they will work fine once the carb. is tune properly, then buy a set of heds that will flow the most air for the 440 port size, ported Eddy RPM, ported Stealth, ported EZ or ported B1-BS I wouuld put a two inch spacer under the carb. to increase the plenum volume.I would buy a set of Harland Sharp roller rockers, especailly for the street As far as a shelf cam I would use the Comp Cams XE295HL with 1.6 rocker ratio, I have a motor with those parts in it and they work real well, especially the idle I put it in at 3 degrees advance. On headers a set of two inch should work well, a two step of 2 to 2 1/8 inch will be worth a little more power but not a bunch Three or three and half exhaust sytem with a really good set of muffs and you will need some really good rear tires

My version is similar;
Eddys or EZs (porting by Modern optional) I use the Eddys ported by Modern
10.5 CR +/- (I have about 10.9 CR)
At least 950cfm carb
Any number of good rocker choices
Dwayne Porter or Scott Brown for the cam (I use Scott)

Depending on the final combo, 600+ Hp on pump gas is easily attainable. With a Dominator, my 499" makes 520RWHP on pump gas.

Just be sure to leave some budget for tires.

My combo:

Dish pistons at zero deck for 10.2 cr
Eddy's, pocket ported
Comp Pro Magnum steel alloy rockers
MP aluminum rocker shaft hold downs
MM lobe solid FT cam speced by Muscle Motors. 242@.050 duration, .55 lift, 108 CL
3/8" pushrods made to fit

On the cam, "streetable" is a personal choice. 242 degrees/108 cl has a "noticable" idle and is about as high as you can go if you are using power brakes. If/when I want more from mine, I'll work on head flow and keep the cam about where it is.

That's a pretty aggressive lobe for the street.

I dont think I gave my cam specs. Its a solid flat tappet thats a custom grind frome Dwayne Porter. It is 264 & 270 at .050 with a 110 LSA. It has .588 and .592 lift but I use 1.6 rockers for .628 and .631 lift. I have it in the eng on a 106 centerline. I drive on the street all the time with it and I love it. Has some nice rump rump that I love and idles good for what it is. Makes good power down low up to 6500 or more.
64Post has heard my car as we see each other at local weekend cruise spots all the time. I even still have power brakes that work with ok with this cam. Ron

Yeah, if I was going to do a RB top end it would be very similar, if not exactly, like yours Ron. That's a very good running and great sounding combo.
