I read in the 1973 HEMI Racing Manual that the Racer Brown STX-23 camshaft is the grind of choice for racing a stick shift HEMI.

I'd assume that this is or was a flat tappet cam. Would you know a comparable roller cam of today ?

in some old RB spec sheets I have that cam was adv dur312and 276@ .050 with . 570/.608 lift. not real big for a hemi in today's world.

Some of those STX series cams were mushroom tappet cams...off hand I can't recall if the 23 was or not.

They were a good cam, and widely used. RB did a lot of the cam development for Chrysler, the MoPar "Purple Shaft" series were all derivatives of Racer's profiles.

I still use a Racer Brown 140-R roller.
