So which shocks would you recommend?
I really have not heard anything really good about KYB'S as they give the car a hard/stiffer ride...
Never had them personally.
So what is the brand to go with?
Just looking to have a nice riding car assuming the springs and such are in good shape.

Application? Budget? I am saving for the qa1 double adjustables, one of the most affordable ones on the market. Tim

Monroe's and kybs are the low cost choices. Kybs are stiff, but on smooth roads they are good. On washboard roads they suck.

If your spending bucks then Bilstiens or Konis, and other premium brands. Shocks are something that you can get 80 to 90 percent of available performance relatively cheaply. But if you demand more (like autocrossers) the cost goes up FAST.

Used Monroe gas shocks on all my stock Muscle Cars for years.
Some people are moving towards the Bilsteins of late.

I had kyb's on my demon- mildly lightened car with 1.08 bars and SS leaf springs. My neighborhood is pretty well paved so it was cool, but real stiff. The car cornered flat and way harder than was fun in the '72 buckets with no side bolsters!

Bilisteins are better,if you have buget Q1 and want the adjustability.

I bought Bilstein's for my Dart. Installed pretty easily. My car isn't running but when I was bouncing on the car a bit while on 4 wheels it was definitely much stiffer and not as wavy.

Monroe Gas Matics.

Sounds like you are looking for as comfortable and smooth ride as possible with stock handling.
