I usually have to check all the bolts in my car after making a run at SIR.... kind of like making a quarter pass down a washboard country road! Terrible pit area and there idea of track prep is maybe sweeping off the large rocks at the starting line, and another thing....well I was going to have fun with this, but all my experiences at SIR, be it a few years ago, have been nothing but positive. Nice smooth long 1/4, great pit area and facilities. Only pitfall is having to put up with Bill and Matt, but the great facility still makes it worth putting up with those two! I too miss the Mopar Shootouts that Dennis Maurer used to put on. Good times for sure.
I certainly hope Speedworld finds a way to survive. The facility as a whole has come a long ways over the years. Great family oriented fun from the RC car track, RC airdrome, moto X track, and drag strip. Way things are going I'll have Vegas, and that's about it. Everything else is a 6hr+ pull.

Jay, Thanks for the Kudos! Didn't we save you a spot for Pinks ALL OUT? Can't believe it was 5 years ago. Hopefully we'll get to see you sometime soon. It's been awhile. later matt

Jay - I've got that shirt for both the 2003 and 2004 race, still in the original packaging. Mine are XXXL!!  Only because I was afraid they would shrink when washed! I have picture of you, Matt, me, Nick, The Old Hippie, MoparBilly, Wes, and others in the pits at both those races.

WTF! Noooooooo!  EDIT: Probably should have read the thread first before having any unnecessary outbursts. Makes me feel a bit better, although it still stinks they are trying to put the axe to Speedworld, especially considering what has already been going on with Firebird. At least my girlfriend's family has a house in Tucson and she is a Wildcat alum so it gives me an excuse to make the trip.

This Dart was shown on that episode of Pinks All Out... He didn't run, but they interviewed the driver. Does he still run that car down there?

I have a HyGain multi-band vertical that broke during the monsoons. Haven't got around to fixing it yet.

My claim to fame from that Pinks outing is NONE. LOL The closest I got to being on camera was the camera man standing on MY trailer to film the interview of the guy pitting next to me in his Buick GNX. I still had a great time that weekend.
