i was considering that but others have said there's better cams for more power such as the lunati 60304
thanks
it's a can of worms, you opened it.how much hp does it take on the street to get you and your street tired car in trouble?i have a 2010 r/t challenger that sets in the garage because i think i have to hit the 140 mph limiter when i have it out.so do want the sound or the power? which if you have looked at the hughes web site the whiplash cam is no slouch.

he mentioned its for a stroker - the whiplash series are for stock, low compression motors.
have you looked at the thumpr series by comp cams? seems to be what your looking for..

You should talk to Dwayne Porter. He speced the solid flat tappet I run as I told him I like a little Rump Rump in the cam. Mine is 264 and 270 @ .050 with .592 and .588 lift but I use 1.6 rockers for .632 and .628 lift. Has a 110 LSA and I have it in on a 106 centerline. Runs great and idles just right. Its in my 63 Sport Fury that is a street car and has run 10.70's on pump gas thru the exh. Ron

he also mentioned street,2800 conv,3.55 gears.then just put the .528 mp solid in it and shred away the rear tires.

Yep. Agree on this one. You want the sound and the power. Call Dwayne.

Your not going to have a raunchy idle with the .528 cam It does have decent power though!

Either the Comp Cams XE285HL or the bigger XE295HL I have ran both in pump gas motors smaller than yours and they ran good I did degree both, the XE285HL went in at 105 intake lobe center in a 446 C.I. 440 motor and the XE295HL went in at 106 Intake lobe center in a 464 C.I. 440 stroker motor with a sixpak set up, Eddy RPM and similar exhaust. It , the 464 C.I. 440, ran low 11s and high 10s in my 3450 lb. Duster on Oregon pump gas through the three inch exhaust system with the sixpak air cleaner with a 3 inch tall K&N air cleaner element on the XE295HL really rumps, you won't fool many street racers with that 3/4 cam
Mr.Cab Racing and winning with Mopars since 1964. (Old F--t, Huh)

With the heads you have and the rest of your combination I would spec( assuming a hydraulic flat tappet, and a shelf grind) a Lunati 07303 Street Master. The other grinds people have been suggesting may do okay in an engine with stock or stock Edelbrock heads, but with a decent flowing set of heads those big exhaust lobes end up " over scavenging " for lack of a better term. Those cams help make power in some cases but just aren't what would be best with yours. The Lunati I stated is 245/245 @ .050 with a 108 lsa. It will have enough overlap to give you a lumpy idle without pumping too much out the exhaust :twocents Keith
