Working on 1987 360 out of my Ramcharger. Purchased a new timing cover and the alignment at the oil pan/front of block seems to be a little off. Will the oil pan seal ok with this much of a jump?

2nd question. Please help me identify these gaskets that came with my felpro kit. Wondering if the round cork or the round black paper/metal is to be used on the oil filter plate?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I would loosen all the timing cover bolts and put the balancer on, this will at least get the seal centered on the balancer. I have never used those gaskets, egr, smog pump crap.

loosen all the bolts on t-cover,install damper, torque t-cover down, install oil pan gasket/pan and torque it down. it should seal up with that slight mix match after t-cover is centerd.

2 hole gasket looks like air pump gaske maybe??

the thick cork gasket and the thin metal core gasket are for the 90* oil filet adaptor.

FYI, on some fel pro kits it will have a outer gasket with 3 fingers holding the small center bolt gasket for the 90* adaptor. this hold the outer ring in place, then the thick cork gasket between the block/adaptor, with the metal core washer gasket between the bolt and adaptor on the outside under the big bolt head.

some felpro kits will have just the large outer ring for the flat oil fliter plate. which only uses the 1 large outer gasket and the nipple goes metal to metal holding the plate to the block. And it will have those 2 gasket in your pic to be used with the single outer gasket if adaptor is needed.

so the gasket kits cover either oil filter mounting needs.

I'd set the pan and front/rear seals on there dry to check fitment. May or may not have to pull the dampener/timing cover & start over. If so, install the timing cover with its' gasket/cement LOOSELY snugged so it can still move a bit then get the dampener started far enough till the snout is fully in but just inside the seal which will center the timing cover then tighten the timing cover bolts then draw the dampener on the rest of the way. I would do this dry to see if that takes care of the substantial ledge that you are dealing with & if good finish up with gasket cement. A bit of extra work but as you know oil leaks are the cats ass. As Scratchn said with the flat plate all you need is the large ring gasket under the plate in the pic which I assume is already there & the (3) gaskets in the pic are not used

Yep, I used only the large ring gasket under the filter mount. Thanks for your input. Great stuff.
