Hi guys, I'm ready to paint my master cylinder, bale wire, cover and power brake booster.
My question is this: do the 4 fasteners (mc to booster) and the wire harness bracket (that attaches to the booster) get painted also? Thanks!

The booster, booster valve, lid, bail, the master cylinder & attaching nuts were painted as an assembly.

The wire loom was added later & held on with a Pal nut.

Are you suggesting that the wire loom was not painted black or just not painted black at the same time?

Based on some photos I have, it appears the loom bracket was painted black as well, but the attach nuts were not.

Feedback??

Thats interesting, so do you believe that only one PAL nut held the bracket on??

Attached is how mine came off the car

These cars were assembled by multiple people over multiple months, so any number of variables can exist.

Seems odd we both show a picture of one nut when clearly 2 could have been installed, biggest variation is the style of nut. That Pal nut doesn't hold much of anything.

I was going to have to start some research on the nut situation as I'm in the middle of redoing mine at the moment, planned to look for the brother of the nut I currently have but perhaps installing only 1 is the answer?

ok - i have to get a little off topic - but I can't find my pictures (lost in the shuffle somewhere) and for the life of me i can't remember if there was a gasket between the master cyinder and booster. And is there a gasket between the booster and firewall? I have a gasket kit from Detroit Technologies - I'll study it and hopefully draw some conclusions - but thought i'd ask here as well. Thanks for any info!
