I talked with Chris at US Cartool about these strong looking inner fender brace kits. The video on his website is impressive.

He says it is not necessary on a stock component type suspension; but rather is meant to help with aftermarket k frame and coilover type suspensions.

There is a link in the Hot Deals and New Products section with video links.

Anyone see this yet?

Too many cars, too many parts, too little coin, too little space to work in, too little time left to make it all happen! Update: down to one ride, still too many parts, a little more jingle in the pocket, gaining space, and it's going to happen this year!

I plan on getting them but was concerned about tire clearance issues under full compression. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

I think there is more room than what is seen on the johnscudashop car.

Cool post ! Thanks!
Should make the torsion bars more effective too by not using the body as a torsion bar!

You original design looks a bit too cantilevered to be as fully effective as a more triangulated design. You will probably realize an increase in rigidity with the Cartool units, not to mention some more wheel well space.

That's neat and demonstrates the effectiveness of the bracing, but after going to all the trouble to set that all up, I would have thought they would use a more standard industry measure such as degree of deflection per inch.

I bought their torque boxes awhile back - the old design was an ok fit, but the newer ones fit was perfect - and their service was great!

Too many cars, too many parts, too little coin, too little space to work in, too little time left to make it all happen! Update: down to one ride, still too many parts, a little more jingle in the pocket, gaining space, and it's going to happen this year!

I just ordered mine along with torque boxes and the lower radiator area brace. Looking to have seams welded and installing the subframe connectors I already have. Want a stiff chassis. Maybe mini tub it too. Now to find a good welder in the St. louis area. Hmmm?

Parts came in the other day. Likely having Andy McCoy Race Cars do the installation and other welding I want done. Anyone know if its cheeper to have someone like him do the K frame welding or just send mine into Firmfeel?

Interesting video. A crude knock off of the XV video from 2006 performed on a real surface plate. Kudos to US Car Tool for capitalizing on XVs lack of any business sense. I would think the part would be even better if it was tied more to the shock tower where more of the load is?
