after our fuel pressure mishap in Le Mans this year (read more here http://www.olympia-charger.com/2012/10/le-mans-classic-2012-flashback-nr-1.html ), I'm considering to replace the original vintage double membrane fuel pump with something more modern.

What are your experience with the guys at Stewart Race Pumps ?

I have no experience with a RACE PUMP. But have used a Clay Smith many years with excellent results.

I have an updated pump (pre-owned) that will be used to dyno my lo deck stroker over the winter and at some point may be used in the car when the engine is installed. My car is a street car so it will get lots of testing. I will be using a fuel cell with a sump that is higher than the pump so no check valve. Hopefully I don't end up walking home because of it.

OP you have a PM..

You could use an electric pump to prime the system, here is something from the viper board...Tim
