1970 Road Runner -

My brother is struggling with getting his front window regulator back in his freshly painted RR. Does anyone have the sequence of how to do this? Or the correct position of the pieces/parts as you reassemble and put it in the door? Diagrams? Or what gets assembled "outside" the door before you put it in - or what you need to assemble "inside" the door as you put it together?

Thanks for the guidance!

Ron

The front is easy !!! Actually I just did my 70 Sport Satellite . . . I slid the front window into the vent window assembly, and then lowered all that in place - not an easy feat as you are trying to keep the window from dropping down !! Then I got the regulator and installed that . . . that is the easy part, as you put the roller into the window guide on the window and then just have the 3 (or was it 4) bolts that bolt the regulator to the door . . . . course you will be scratching up your arm, as you try to keep things steady . . . I can truly say there is "blood, sweat, and tears" all in my car !

Now I have to do the rear windows - arrgghhh - they are the nightmare !!! . . .

Good luck . . .

Cheers

Mark

He's pretty well right. When I did mine I stood a piece of wood in the bottom of the door about 10" high that held up the glass. It makes it a little easier to do everything else when you don't have to try and hold up the glass too.
Sequence would be:
vent window assembly with door glass attached
align vent window frame and attach
lower door glass all the way to bottom of door shell and install window fuzzies
raise and support glass and install window regulator
finally you may have to re-adjust angle of vent window frame with glass all the way up checking the clearance against the back glass and making sure the height at the rear matches the back window when its all the way up.

...FAFO...

The problem Im having is the white clips seem to big, They jam the felt and glass so tight I cant get the glass to slide up and down in the vent channel. Is there a trick to get the glass to slide up and down in the vent channel with ease?

I bought the new window felt (fuzzy) from Mopar (OUCH!!! - $58 each!!) . . . took the old ones off, and made sure that the white clips were totally seated. On the drivers side, I fought like heck with the window, putting it into the vent window track from the top. That is when I decided to put it in from the bottom and install the vent window, front window as an assembly and donate my blood on the sharp edges of the door openings holding the window from dropping . . . but putting in from the bottom, it fits great in the track with no binding . . . sounds like you may not have the white clips fully seated ???
