What kind of paint should i use on my newly acquired steel wheels? Dont have the money to powder coat, so was going the paint rout. Something that wouldnt chip easily, thanks for the advice.

Bake the fresh paint in your oven at 200-300 degrees. I'd warm each rim just before paint to about 150 degrees. Lay paint on warm surface.

I did 3 of my 4 rims like that (one had a tire on it for mock-up). The one rim has a couple of nicks. The others that were baked don't. That was just Rustoleum spray paint.

Not all acrylic urethanes are equal: I've noticed that the Standox brand used on some of my wheels holds up better than a pair that were painted with Martin-Senour (NAPA). All wheels were properly prepped & primed.
