Gordie's Speed Center is in Yuma, home of Gordie Rivera, Pro Stock racer. Had a friend who's lived down there for years, he was into Mopars and drag racing, raced a 10 second Duster ("Mad Hatter"), and a 9 second Dart, both small block powered, and used to talk about street racing in Mexico quite often!

I play around in the sand dunes to the west of Yuma and heard about this place, its a div 7 track never been to it but its not far away in Mexicali Mexico. We were in Yuma for a big car show in march called Midnight at the oasis, the community gets involved in everything and the people we met were very nice kind of small townish. My mom and sister live there and I like it. Small town that is close to everything. Glamis is where I go to play when im there. Unbelievably sick sand toys frequent there. There is circle track racing and I believe sand drags in Yuma also.

Dom, Yuma, El Centro, Blythe, Phoenix,Indio, Palm Springs all have high heat and humidity in the summer, 117 F with 60+% humidity. When I lived in Blythe I can remember swimming in a local motel pool at 1:30 AM(EDITED) and the thermoneter by the pool reading 98 F If the shop is cooled and the place where you sleep and live is cooled you'll be fine

Thankxxx..........just looking at different options and locations to finish the rest of my interesting life. I HATE SUMMER.......I`m Italian, extremely hot blooded and love winter weather but whatever it takes I guess. Thaught about back east but no desire as they have goofy weather also so again, time will tell. My friend has been hanging out w/Danny of "Counts Kustoms" in Vegas and was going to mention me to him about possible employement also and a smog lic. in Vegas is WAY easier than Cally as there`s a guy in my class from there. Been hittin you guys and others up all over the globe about a job NOT cos I`m begging but because I believe I am a great, loyal honest drug/alcohol free worker and I see the "crap" people call professional quality............what a joke. My time WILL come and one lucky sumbitch will be happy he/she gave me the opportunity to work for them................peace!

If you're looking for a place to retire to, yet be near some racing, Buckeye, Casa Grande, Apache Junction, Hell, even Prescott would be closer than Yuma. They're aal small communities just outside metro Phoenix & while stil hot don't have the stifling heat Yuma does. I think you'll find there's alot more to do in Az than just car stuff & alot of guys around here "we'll get to it later" attitude when it comes to car stuff.

For drag racing your looking at Vegas or Phoenix or Tuscon for a drag strip, that would be the closest to Yuma.
