Are you talking about an A-body, the orignal poster is looking for bars for his Demon?
Can't imagine 1" or larger bars on an A-body being any but a buck board. On a B/E body where the bar is longer you need the larger diameter just to have the same spring rate as a shorter bar.

In response to that comment, I can't dispute what you have "heard", but I have never read that once here on moparts in over 5 years. Sounds more like a misapplied shock problem then a TB, like KYB's
I agree with the KYB statement, my wore out shocks rode better than the KYB's I replaced them with. I went to a .96 t-bar (taxicab bars) and Spax shocks on my 67BCuda with a FirmFeel front swaybar.

Hey, I recognize that photo... That's a 1.14" bar on the left, 0.92" on the right. I upgraded from 0.89's to the 0.92's looking for an improvement in handling. It was quite noticible, but not what I was looking for. With KYB's in front (the same pair Daty used, BTW) the ride on the highway was essentially the same as my wife's 2002 Acura TL. A nice firm(er) ride, but not as "sporting" as I wanted. On rougher roads, like the brick streets in older parts of town, the ride was MISERABLE. Squeaks, rattles, crashes & bangs... definitely a washboard effect going on. This was not a spring problem, it was a shock problem. Better shocks would have had a much nicer ride on these rough streets. 0.92" bars, IMHO, are a great compromise bar for a street/strip car. Really, they're the minimum bar I'd ever run on a small block cruiser. Weight transfer won't be as good as with /6 bars, but will still be OK. Road manners will more than make up for any diminished launch issues. IMHO (again) the 1.14" bars I have now are totally streetable - IF you have good shocks. I'm running adjustable QA1 Stocker Stars on my Valiant, and the ride is about the same as my Dad's 94 Corvette. I don't think anyone would say that a stone stock Corvette is intolerable on the street. Even my wife thinks my Valiant rides pretty well with the big bars and good shocks - better than with the 920's and KYB's. Good shocks are some of the best money you can spend on your car. Really.
