from my subject line this isnt going to go the way you think it is.i think mopars are the best bang for the buck in the mucsle car world bar none!!

iev been buying nice a bodies for twenty years now for under a grand and as low as $75 for a dart sport strait driver slant six car!
i dont have my choice of 4 or five cars like i did ten years ago but they are stil out there.look at $900 novas on craigslist and then look at dusters and tell me who has it good.even chevy 4 door stuff from the 60s is obsceen and mopar 4 doors are almost free.yes i know fox bodies are cheep and evrywhere but thats all ford has to offer-they have no other cool cars.

i can put a 440 in my hands for under 500 bucks anyday, there is no way i could get a 454 for that much and big block fords are junk.our smallblocks ALL rock.we dont have to open ten hoods in the jyd looking at 305 junk trying to find a 350.THERE IS NO MOPAR V8 THAT IS JUNK.that cannot be said for the other guys.

im a mopar guy and even on this board i feel a great disturbance in the force.we dont apreciate what we have and we have a lot of "moposers" in our midst.you know the guy with a cuda and a charger and a mustang.if you are mad becose you cant find a cuda or a challenger and camaros are starting to look good for the money YOU are that guy.if an LS1/3/7/9ect looks good to you you are that guy.if you dont like volares, diplomats cordobas daytonas dakotas dartsports or any other poor mans mopar fodder maybe you arent a mopar guy.alot of you sound like closet gay guys fighting with thier wives.no matter what this hobby does for us we complain some one else has it better.we need more heads, blocks, trannys, bodies like the chevy guys and ford guys have.these guys weill never be satisfied becose they really wish they were on the other team!

It is OK to have other brands
I have had several Mopar race cars --one was good enough I sold it to a McCandless
I have enjoyed Mopars and this group for 20 some years but....
My new project will have a SBC between the rails and I can tell ya after just about finishing up the engine that it has been lots of fun buying very inexpensive Quality used parts for this project--I can score something almost every day off Craigs --It has been Fun!
Hey, I had a 65 Mustang Fastback too
Now I draw the line at Ramblers, Volvos, will NEVER own a VW anything
Bottom line is anything that looks good and runs fast is fine by me. Now...lets sit back and watch the mud fly!

Great Rant! I let someone have it once at a Mopar BBQ for having BowTie salad on the table.

I think it's kind of a mixed bag. Some Mopar body styles are pretty high priced and a lot of reproduction parts aren't cheap either. On the other hand there are Mopar models that are still reasoably priced, but they also tend not have as much available in the way of reproduction parts. Where engines and drivelines are concerned I think that the closer to stock you stay the greater the Mopar advantage. Parts like cams, pistons, aftermarket blocks, manifolds and headers all tend to be higher for Mopars than for SBC's. On the plus side stock production Mopar rods, cranks and blocks can support pretty decent power levels. Machine shop work is pretty much the same for all engines. The machine shop dosen't care what brand of block you have, it still costs the same to bore and hone it or to deck it. Once you get into aftermarket blocks and heads the price tends to go up and choices are more limited for Mopars.

I can't say I've ever found a 75 dollar dart sport or any kind of a decent 2dr a-body for under 1k. It's just unfortunate that the most popular years of b-bodies and e-bodies are priced out of a lot of guys' budgets.

alot of my math doesnt apply to those in the rust belt, sorry.but it would atleast be the same for chevys in the salt road lands.have you guys seen the prices of rubber bumper cameros these days?later this week ill be picking up two volares for 750,one 76 that is rusty and dented with a good 318/904 and a 80 slant six 904 with a supposed rod knock that is rust free and strait as an arrow and good paint.

i have a chevy buddy who is a good friend.he shows up anytime to help with wrenching on my mopar.we have oddly simmilar cars.383 cu in,3000 ish lbs.he has way more in his car than me. mine is not yet finished but im pretty sure i got him covered
