Friend is putting a 360 in a 69 Dart. Engine is balanced as an old 360 with the B+M 10239 flexplate. He has built his own intake using an old tunnel ram, a Viper throttle body and welded in injector bungs and plans on using a factory computer, so he needs to use a flexplate set up for an A500 with the crank sensor windows. Any body sell and A500-360 weighted flexplate. Again, it's balanced as an old 360, not a Magnum. Thanks

If he is that handy fabricating he can just get a 318 magnum flex pate and weld on the appropriate 360 LA weight in the same place as the 5.9 magnum weight.

It isn't just getting the weight in the right location - rotation wise - it also matters to get it the right distance from the centerline of the crank to match what was cut out of the B+M plate that it was balanced with. So if nobody makes an off the shelf plate, we will either cut the outer ring off a stock one and weld it to the B+M, or see if it's possible to simply stack the plates.

It is really simple, buy the weight kit from mopar performance desighned to balance a 360 converter, just weld it to the plate instead. They use the same balance factor as the B&M plate. If you are concerned about 1 gram or something then weld it up and take it to a machine shop and have them balance them to match, should be able to add a tiny more to your weld or drill a tiny lightening hole.

I think he tried that and the weight ended up being located in one of the window holes in the flexplate. They aren't solid - theres a lot of area missing.

Looks solid all around the out side, why would you put it closer to the crank?

I think he's considered most of the options - weight kits, cutting the outer ring off and welding it to the B+M, stacking the plates, crank triggers, etc. Pretty much all but the crank trigger would require getting the resulting flexplate rebalanced. If someone already makes an A500 - 360 flexplate, there isn't any reason to try to make one - thats why I posted for that style plate and not ways to make one.

Thanks for the replys.

Rather than try to weld the 360LA weights on the later flexplate in the same position they would be on the converter, you could place the weight out near the outer rim like the 360 Magnum. It would take some math; knowing the 360LA imbalance is 19.79 inch-ounces...extrapolate that into the inches the rim is from center.
