This cable or wire retainer was bagged with with my non ac heater control switch.

All of my pictures related to the disassembly of the car or the components were lost when an external hard drive failed.

Help!

....there is nothing like driving my 1968 Hemi Dart around town and having people looking at you like you're nuts!!

That is already installed, with a 1/4" bolt.

This appears to be installed with a #8 screw, a similar retainer is on the side of a am/fm radio where the wires exit the radio.

Similar as you said but the one on the radio is much thinner..(this is a '69 GTX radio support)

Here is a photo of the wire retainer on the side of a am fm radio.

IIRC all of the dash and steering column was removed when this retainer was bagged

Not a vent or heater cable chip. They are thin black spring steel.
Really looks like a cable clamp for a aftermarket choke cable.

I have taken apart dozens of 70 B body dash assemblies. Never seen that part before. I assume it was added for a choke or something similar.

The car did have an after market choke cable.
