I know sparkplugs have been discussed a thousand times, but I am looking for something a little more application specific.

Bone stock 440-6 in a '69 RR with an automatic. Not taken to the strip, I just like cruising around in it. I have RJ12YC's in it now, not sure I like them. They look OK so far, though the car runs a little rich and I think I can do better with plug selection. Timing is "mainstream" at 18 initial and 36 full, I do not have any detonation signs.

As a side comment, I have two 383's that I switched to the hotter RJ14YC's with excellent results (cleaner smell out the tail, hold up well when driving around, nice tan color).

What do you all run in a pure stock, street only, 440-6????

I haven't tried the new ones made in china but the older ones, US made work great for me. If you look around you can still find some.

I bought a lot, as in 3 set's of 8 on e'bay 2 years ago for $22.00. They looked like they were packaged back in the 70's...early 80's

Bosch Platniums.......run'em in sm blk 6 paks and B blk 6pak, and Hemis.....if you ain't got the ignition "firepower" to run these, you won't like them,.......but if you have a "hot" ignition, these plugs perform great!

The rj12-Y's are actually hotter than the factory plug already. (j11-y). going to the 14's is quite a few steps asay from factory. sure, they stay cleaner if you're doing a lot of low speed cruising, but would be prone to detonation. I'm using Mopar p-34 plugs (I think that's the number, its a j-11Y repackaged). Bought about 10 sets at a swap meet a few years back for $5 a set.

Accel 437S need them to clear my headers. Perform well.
