I was curious if someone could tell me if this is a common problem on the smaller Carter BBD carb. You can see it in the pic below where it is raised up in the center. This is the top cover on the carb. Is there anything I can do to fix it myself?

Run it on a belt sander.

That one looks pretty bad, you may not get it flat before removing too much material.

Thanks gentlemen. I have an Eddy 1406 I could put on but I didn't really want to do a manifold swap and everything else right now. I guess I'll try to see what I can do with this before I jump in. <sigh>

It'd be worth a try to see if you could take up the space with some gasket cement and maybe some soft gasket material but I'd do some drawfiling first and it'll take some work with that amount of warp.

I've run mine on a stationary belt sander. A little on the bowl, and a little on the top.
