Does anybody know who might sell molded floor rubber for a 68' auto road runner ? You would think the carpet people could put something together but no luck

I thought I saw something about this a few years ago and someone mention JC Whitney...Buy one for a truck and cut it down??? Just FYI, depending on when your 68 was built, it could have had carpet as well. Mine was a late build non-decor (May 68), and came with carpet.

Really, I did not know that. I thought most if not all the non-decor auto cars were rubber in 68'

The shift was Jan-Feb timeframe of 1968. I don't know the reason why. I could speculate that they were running out of mats and had plenty of carpet for Satellites, GTXs etc. or maybe that dealer feedback from potential customers desiring carpet over rubber mats???? Could have been associated with the release of the decor package/hardtop cars? The timeframe answer I got from Galen years ago when I sent money in for a report and asked that question. Maybe someone else on Moparts with more 68 RR knowledge can chime in on reasons...

Any pictures of your project?

4-speed = black carpet, AT = rubber (non-Decor).

ACC, I think it was, sent me a flyer about having the rubber, about 4 years ago.

It looks very close to the original. My car has an early build date Oct 20 of 67.

I checked ACC's web site but they only show carpet for RR. I will have to call, dealing with this storm now.

Both ACC and Trim Parts make a rubber mat and either one will not be a great fit especially if you don't install it ASAP. The molds that make the carpet are used for the rubber mats and they do not hold there molded shape very well once they are rolled and boxed.
