I may be sending someone your way. I have a friend doing a 71 cuda, and he needs hindges and I told him 71-72' were the same but he wanted to see pics of the different ones. I don't have an extra set to give him, yes I said give, he's a good friend. My early built 71 had 70 style. I don't think he cares which ones he gets.

Can you use one 71 hinge with the teeth on one side and a 72 to 74 without the teeth on the other side? And are the AMD hinges any good?

You could conceivably use tooth & non-tooth types on the same car and in fact I've seen one example of this on a production vehicle that appeared to be original.

I personally wouldn't recommend doing it however... while the rivet positions where the folding occurs are the same, I'd be concerned about differences in resistance possibly making the hood want to twist as it's lowered. When I rebuild hood hinges I match the assembly frictions
side-to-side for this reason.

Looks like I should put together a pictorial series showing the year variations... in all my spare time.
