For a 67 Coronet with a 440, do the low performance and high performance manifolds exit in the same spot? Another words, are the exhaust pipes interchangeable between the two?

they are different, I have the correct HP manifolds on my '67 R/T and they are very different from the ones off my '67 New Yorker...(both 440)

As said no , and FYI the low performance version of the 440 in 1967 was not available in the Coronet line .

AAARRRGGGHH! Can the manifolds be changed by dropping them from the bottom? Are the studs the same for low performance and HP manifolds?

Yes studs should be the same , flanges on the head mounting surface would be the same thickness, you should be able to take the manifold out from the top .

Would have to take the AC out to take the passenger side out from the top. Do NOT want to do that. Looks like there is enough room to get the old one out the bottom but not sure of the HP version.

I am starting to figure out the differences and I believe I can overcome them but I may change the manifolds.

I assume the passenger side manifold is the same as a 68/69 -- the one that ends in 900 -- correct?

Yes the pass side is the same 67-69 , you may want to unbolt the mounts and jack one side at a time and do it from the top, getting the HP back in with a 440 is going to be real tight especially on the Pass side .

Well it wasn't for the faint hearted, but I got the 440 exhaust to fit with the low performance manifolds without cutting any of the pipes. Thanks to Jim Lusk I now have the correct 440 manifolds for future use.

First I had to make a jig to drill the pipe flanges for the smaller bolt pattern. Used the other side of the jig for opening up the gaskets.

Biggest thing was that I had to make flange adapters to angle the pipes in order to fit. Took a long time, not to mention I burned up 2 motors (chinese) on my band saw making them. Got a real motor on the saw now.

The tail pipes fit like a glove. I did have to put an extender for the mufflers as these mufflers were quite a bit shorter than required, and I had to modify the driver side extender to make the tail pipe fit correctly.

Its not perfect, but it works just fine. The good news is that I did not have to cut any of the pipes so when I do install the 440 manifolds the exhaust should bolt right up. My only regret is that I welded the muffler extender to the passenger side tail pipe and I wish I had used a clamp.
