Putting a 572 together, with a world Al block
bracket motor.
Like to have some opinions, On what you would run for rollers and why.
Ive run Comps lifters with good results, Change them after 200 runs.
Just wondering what else there is that a drop in, If not what needs to be done to run them. Thanks for your time
Jim F

I'm under the impression that you need to run chrome lifters in a unbushed aluminum block, yes or no?

I`m running the regular soild body Iskys but not sure if they`re chrome plated or not............don`t seem to be unless it`s wore off.

I ran the standard redzones before they came out with the solid bushing for 2 years with no problems. When I took the motor apart to change pistons and rods the lifter bores seemed fine.

Ouch! That sounds expensive to somebody like me that has run the same $189 flat tappet solid lifters for 5 years and 700 passes.

That would be 4 sets of the roller lifters by now, and at $400/set that is $1600 in lifters. I guess that is the price you pay for the roller. A rebuild program should be able to reduce the long term cost, right?

Dominic, aluminum blocks are different animals than cast iron like we use Regular steel rollers lifters work good in our blocks

Isky use to list and offer them in thier catalog for aluminum blocks, I haven't used Isky in years so I don't have a recent catalog to see if there still in there or not. I bought two sets of Crane Hemi roller lifters for blown Hemi motors last year and they look like thier chromed also, the middle pair part # is listed as for BAE Hemi blocks As far as I know Brad Andersen never made any cast iron or compact graphite iron blocks, only cast aluminum and billet aluminum race blocks for top fuel and aloholol applications I guess the old adage of "If it ain't broken, don't fix it" applys to your appication EDITED: This picture doesn't really show the differences between the standard stock steel body on the left and the other two pair of Crane race lifters in the middle and the right side for the taller World blocks, sorry for the lack of quality on the picture
