Just got my Dads 383 RR back after selling it to him 20yrs ago . Noticed when i got back home with it the right cover is leaking like a sive . Question is , what type is best to use and how (blue rtv or no rtv ?) ? I had a friend tell me they now make some type of composite gasket ? Thanks in advance !

yes, felpro has a nice hard thick set you have to really crank down on to get it to crush and seal good.

i used them on my 440. also used some stock bolts with the triangle bolt hold downs. this helps on the corners.

I made sure the VC rail was striaght and the holes not puckerd. then wiped head and Vc down with brake clean. use some mopar black ATF/RTV sealer and let cure over night.

sealed right up and been a yr or more with no leaks.

Amost everytime, it's the valve cover's fault.

A straight sheet metal cover or a cast cover, rarely leak.

Does your PVC / breather system work?
