I am running a BB powered Challenger set up for road race. I'm thinking of stepping it up and maybe doing some autocross. I am not sure my basic Hemi pan setup will keep it well oiled in extreme conditions.

I have considered adding an Accusump or Milodon pan. I am wondering what has worked well for folks. Suggestions appreciated!

You might want to move this to the cornering forum.

Milodon 31581 or 31580 depending on if external or internal oiling. Tim

You're probably ok for autocross. Can't remember if Mitch Lelito runs an accusump?? Ask for his advice on oiling for autocross. I'm pretty sure he has a stock pan on his small block. Stock small block pans dont have the front or rear baffle like your hemi pan does.

For road race track days or extra oil capacity with the pan flush with bottom of K-member w/o skidplate, get one of the Milodon road race pans.

I had an experienced pro road race driver/instructor in my 340 Barracuda suck the pan dry of oil. Pulled off when the hydraulic lifters clattered up. Had to wait about 1/2 until I could start it up without lifter noise. I assume the oil foamed up. I still ran lap sessions all afternoon then drove 80 miles home.

Put about 5,000 more miles on it and 3-4 track days....Then #6 rod bearing started knocking. Motor had 80K hard miles on a hone/ring/bearing/oil pump job.

That poor little 340 was pretty tough!

That was with rock hard 10 year old tires, cruddy brakes, kyb shocks, .99" T-bars... My old setup.

Some good brakes and good rubber would generate higher G-force loads pulling the oil out of the pan.

These are the features of a Milodon road race / pro-touring pan. The false rear wall is not needed for a Big Block Mopar though...

It sounds like the consensus is run the road race pan. It sounds like it is better than Accusump+Hemi pan. Thanks guys.
