I made a roadtrip on an interstate highway. Going down from my city ( I live at 900-1000 meters height city ) to a 500 meters city the red paint hold the heat and exhaust fumes mixture. I didn't need to give a lot of gas to the car though. But now, going up for 1 hour, 80 MPH average when I had to give more gas and produce more heat due the hill, the paint didn't hold what to use now ? I have heard powdercoating

PG Classic are stainless steel
If I have to powdercoat, would need to cut the welding points to remove the inner pipe, and then reassembly.

mmmm... dunno... will check further in that. I'm worried about get inside the slots the best as posible. beside that, to powdercoat and stick well, needs to be REALLY GOOD cleaned I wouldn't care to dissasemble it anyway because the pieces I got are not really aligned. The outer SS finish pipe is not aligned with the hanger so if you look at the tip I fit on passenger side it looks like pointing out. like this guy http://www.clicmas1.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/Cani_bizco.jpegLOL do you think REALLY powdercoat holds heat and exhaust fumes ?if so... it can be brilliant finish or need to be matte ? I think found some guys offering the service locally.

Powder coat is baked at 400 degrees so the back end of the exhaust should be fine, near the manifolds would require high temp powder which is hard to source & spendy but the tips shouldn't get over 200 degrees which is easily within the abilities of regular powder..... Like I mentioned powder will cover, you can be spraying the face of a part & the material that oversprays the edge will attach itself to the rear of the part.... Durability wise Gloss is usually better...

I'm wondering if these tips are also already powdercoated. The red finish is chiping/peeling off like if was somekind of metallic skin, like a damaged chrome on a bumper. Dunno if the powdercoat fits like this some areas are kinda goldish, then the rest black burnt if you make the close up, will notice some cracks between slots. Inside the pipe you see a clear area, thats the exposed pipe. The paint there peeled off like I described same tip on opposite side... the gray areas on slotted areas is the paint peel off. the other side pipe doesn't looks so bad but still bad. ( it can be noticed on the second pic ) wondering if really is temp issue or fumes polution issue ( mixture/chemical related ), being maybe passenger side bank on engine burning worst than driver side

I'm pretty sure will dissasemble them
ok, for those who say didn't got a problem... HAVE YOU REALLY USED YOUR CARS ? my tips hold the finish for a week, but just driving around the city, but things changed going interstate, as I described, returning to my city
Engine enamel was the first try on my tips, what came out on the first return to my city
so if you think heat is not the problem... what could be ? exaust fumes due mixture ?
