A bone-dry, stock pan, factory converter tranny holds how much fluid?

727 = _____?

904 = _____?

THANK YOU!

I just replaced the 727 in the van and seem to remember 19 pints. Can't find it in a book right now, any way that was with out the converter. I would suggest starting with a quart in the converter and 9 quarts in the trans. That will be enough to safely get it warmed, then check the fluid level and top off as needed.

I have mechanical Aptitude.
I can screw up anything.

(chiltons auto trans repair manual)
the 727 takes 19 pints
and the 904 takes17 pints
this is with the converter.

904=16 pts and 727=18.5 pints total

This is from a 66 Mopar shop manual. Your mileage may vary.

And of course, check in neutral, NOT in park
