I am in the middle of a build where the owner is wanting to add power steering to his car.

I talked to Schumacher today and it looks like I'll either have to cut up a new set of headers to make clearance for the z bar or convert to a hydraulic throwout bearing, along with adding a slave cylinder.

With the 4 speed and stock Z bar setup, what are you running as far as headers?

With 383, ancient Cyclone or Hedman 4-into-1. Car is more fun with headers, but they are a pain in the a@@ to install. I think I had to take the steering column out.

68 Roadrunner. 383 4-spd. Beat up.

I have an old set of Hooker super comp headers in my 69 RR with 440 block, power steering, 4speed. The whole assembly fit together BARELY. Did not have to remove steering column but had to jack up the engine off the mounts once, I think to get the mini starter in.

From first-hand experience, I used a set of Hooker Super Competition PLUS headers. Fit like a glove and went on without a single scratch in the paint...and this was with a four-speed too. I did not have to alter a single thing or put any dents in the header tubes what-so-ever.

Did you call Schumacher and ask about their headers and 4 speed in a B body , your question appears to be missing some information ????

In 36 years I'v had my car many sets of headers and the TTI headers I have now fit the best orginals looks like appliance, then some pro comp (looked like they were made by Black jack too small for real power) then 2 sets of Hooker super comps second set coated nothing like the TTI IMHO
had power steering till a few years ago. hard to get any in without lifting the motor a bit and getting car up in the air good.

Called Mancini this AM. TTI has a set of headers that will work. They are pricey at over $800.00, but I guess thats the price of playing the game with top quality equipment.

Thanks for letting me know of your past experiences.
