Like it says any tips or tricks for getting this accomplished? Getting ready to replace the LCA bushings in an a body have a press just curious if anyone has an tips for the pivot arm? Any help is appreciated.

We've always pressed out the pivot with a large bolt and then tack welded a washer to the outer shell of the bushing to aid with pressing it out.

This method decreased my cursing by 80% when dealing with these!

Do yourself a favor and buy the special tool for that.Sure is a whole lot easer and neater too. Then when a buddy needs to do theirs you can charge for it.

Any link to the tool?

I already have it apart. The arms were sent to powder coat and are now back and ready to go in. Waiting on the bushing. No one in this cowtown stocks them We had soemthing at the old shop to do it but for the life of me cannot remeber what we did..Old age sucks

press the pivot pin into the bushing first,the i use a piece of pipe long enough and diameter of outer bushing to cover the pin and press into control arm.

The order doesn't matter, just that you do not put pressure on the rubber at any time during the operation. If you press the bushing into the arm first you need to support the inner shell while pressing the pin in.
