I was replacing the water pump in my 01 Ram with the 5.2 and noticed that there is a bolt on the lower passenger side right below and to the left of the lowest bolt on the water pump that is in the timing cover - it wasn't that tight and I tightened it to the same torque as the timing cover bolts (30ft lbs) and then saw in a diagram that it wasn't one of the timing cover bolts. Is it for a chain tensioner or guide? If so what is the torque specs on it. Thanks

i just replaced ther timing chain on my 03 dakota 3.9 yesterday(134K, preventitive maintence) i know exactly what you are talking about. its not a bolt at all, its a plug. i have no idea why its there it doesnt drain anything and as far as i can tell it does not allow you access to anything.
i just tightened it a little.
